pic5678 Southampton announced on Tuesday that the club ended their Argentinean manger Mauricio Pellegrino’s contract after their poor results at the Premier League. “We would like to place on record our thanks to Mauricio, Carlos, Assistant Manager, and Xavier, Assistant First Team Coach, for their efforts during their time with Southampton, and wish them well for the future,” Southampton’s statement said.

Pellegrino, 46, was appointed the club’s manager in June 2017. However, he failed to impress in his first year managing at the Premier League. “I feel so sorry to leave the club in this situation, but when you don’t get results I understand the decision the club has to take,” Pellegrino told thepic5678club’s official website on Tuesday.

According to Telegraph, former Stoke City manager Mark Hughes is a strong candidate to replace sacked Pellegrino. The Argentinean manager added: “I wish everyone all the best for the rest of the season, I have enjoyed an amazingpic5678experience and I know that Southampton has everything required to move forward.”

Southampton are struggling this season in the League as they are placed 17th in the League’s standings after picking only 28 points. They are one point away from relegation. Southampton have achieved only one victory in the last 17 fixtures at the Premier League when they defeated West Bromwich Albion 3-2 on February 3.
